Looking for a Safe, Stress-Free Dentist in Chattanooga?
Even during Coronavirus, you don't need to worry about infectious air particles at the dentist...
At Emerald Dental we have the solution:
Negative Pressure Airborne Isolation - the Gold Standard in Patient Safety!
We have combined the best air scrubber system available (Surgically Clean AirTM) with an airflow solution that was inspected and certified to exceed hospital standards for air exchange rates1, providing the best care in the safest environment! We refresh a full volume of clean air every four minutes. We are the ONLY dental office in Chattanooga (or anywhere in TN/GA that we are aware of) to be certified to meet this gold standard of safe treatment during the COVID pandemic! Our indoor air quality system was independently evaluated2 to meet all stringent healthcare standards.3 We are committed to the best indoor air quality at Emerald Dental!
A Hospital Grade Solution
Many people are aware that dental procedures generate large amounts of aerosols and are concerned about potential infection at the dentist. This is a valid concern, especially in the new age of COVID exposure awareness. While social distancing of 6 feet can avoid most droplets that can harbor viral particles, if these particles become attached to aerosols they can spread much farther and linger much longer. If we do not address this, a potentially infectious cloud could spread throughout the office and linger for hours. Fortunately, there is an answer. The best way to solve this is through negative pressure airborne isolation.
What is negative pressure airborne isolation?
When hospitals are faced with containing potentially airborne infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis, Measles, MERS, SARS, and now COVID, one of the most important treatment considerations is what is not seen—the air.
Adjacent rooms are pressured differently to allow cleaner air to flow to potentially contaminated spaces and in these spaces to treat or remove the air. This allows infections to be isolated and remove the pathogens efficiently.
In situations where aerosols are created, this negative pressure prevents it from escaping to other areas and removes the aerosol at its source.
Why is it better than plastic guards or full barriers?
Accurately modeled airflows are very difficult to achieve even with the most powerful computers, how- ever we know that air particles flow and disperse quickly throughout a room. Different sized particles can in stay in the air longer than others, from seconds to hours. While guards and barriers may help in reducing droplet contamination, they are not very effective against aerosol contamination. In a neutral or positive pressure environment, the small particles in aerosols under 10 microns with will linger in the air and spread to other areas. This contamination can only be addressed by carefully directing airflows.
Is there a difference in air purification techniques?
There are many different air purification systems. Many are HEPA filters, which remove most particles greater than 0.3 microns. They clean the air by circulating it through the filter, which effectively dilutes the room with cleaner air to reduce particle counts. The Surgically Clean Air purifier is a world class air scrubbing solution, which passes the air through 6 stages of cleaning including, HEPA, electronic cell, carbon molecular filter, UV-C disinfection, hydroxyl radical reactivity chamber and negative ion generation– which meets or exceeds the guidelines* for general surgery applications. Combining this filtration system with negative pressure isolation and filtering air from the bottom of the room (as opposed to ceiling exhaust) creates the best air treatment system available.
ADS - Extra Oral Suction System | Droplets and Aerosols Terminator
The EOS system Aerosols and Droplets annihilator is designed and engineered to reduce droplet and aerosol spray that is an innate part of dental care.
During dental procedures Droplets and Aerosols are passed on to the dentist and staff’s bodies.
Patient care and the safety and health of the staff and the dentist is paramount, for the elimination of blood, aerosols and fine liquid particles.
All of which are annihilated by the ADS EOS system.
